11KBW offers expert and highly commercial advice in relation to all aspects of UN and domestic sanctions law. We act for individuals and corporations who are subject to or affected by international sanctions, and for governments at both home and abroad. Members of Chambers have advised on issues raised by almost every sanctions regime with domestic impact, from the UN sanctions directed to Al Qaida, to the EU and domestic sanctions regimes in relation to Egypt, Syria, Zimbabwe, Libya, Russia and Iran (including the retained “Blocking Regulation”). They have been at the forefront of sanctions litigation in the UK courts, including Bank Mellat v HM Treasury, Ahmed v HM Treasury, Youssef v Foreign Secretary, Sarkandi v Foreign Secretary and Bredenkamp v Foreign Secretary.
