We are delighted to announce that, upon successful completion of pupillage, Oliver Friend-Smith and Meg Winton have accepted an offer of tenancy. Their tenancies are effective from 1st October 2026.
Oliver practises in all of Chambers’ core areas, including employment, commercial, public, human rights, and information law.
Before coming to the Bar, Oliver graduated with a first-class BA in Law from the University of Cambridge, and a Distinction on the BCL from the University of Oxford. He was a research assistant for the book Reimagining Employment Dispute Resolution and Enforcement, which proposes reforms to the UK’s employment tribunal system. He also volunteered with a pro bono organisation representing parents in the school exclusion process.
Meg comes to the Bar following a career as a solicitor at a magic circle firm, where she worked on high profile law cases including Camelot’s challenge to the Fourth National Lottery Licence and Annington Home’s multi-billion pound judicial review against the Ministry of Defence. Meg practises across all areas of public and human rights, public international, commercial, employment and information law.
Meg holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney, where she ranked third overall and placed first in public international law. She also studied the BCL at the University of Oxford.
