Team Clerk
About the Role
- Team Clerk, working alongside one other colleague and under the guidance of a Team Leader.
- Actively clerking a team of 17 – 19 barristers.

About You
- You will work alongside another Team Clerk, supervised by a Team Leader, in a team of 3.
- Ideally you will have 5 years’ clerking experience with at least three years’ practical diary and fee management.
- In conjunction with the other Team Clerk, you will be responsible for
- Managing and maintaining the diary of the members of your team;
- Having an eye on all fee-related matters including keeping fee notes up to date, ensuring fees are billed in a timeous manner and being on top of upcoming brief fees;
- Ensure fair allocation of work for all members;
- Dealing with listing issues for members of your team;
- Developing a thorough understanding of the practice of each of the members of your team and their individual aims and working in conjunction with your colleagues to help members achieve those aims;
- Assisting with marketing activities and being alert to business development opportunities.
- You will have a commercial and flexible attitude with the ability to work on simultaneous tasks.
- You will be accurate and reliable under pressure.
- You will be able to demonstrate strong client facing skills.
- You will be educated to at least A Level standard or equivalent.
- You will have excellent IT skills.
- A knowledge of Lex will be advantageous but not a requirement as training will be given.
- You will be punctual, courteous and able to communicate appropriately with members, clients and all those with whom chambers engages.
- You will demonstrate a strong ethos for teamwork and the ability to work under your own initiative.
- You will have a thorough understanding of equality and diversity and the importance of practising the same in all situations and towards all people.
- You will have a demonstrable enthusiasm for a career in clerking.
