Syrian refugee, Jamal Hijazi, is pursuing a defamation claim against Stephen Yaxley-Lennon a.k.a Tommy Robinson. The claim follows a video of the schoolboy being attacked at school and which went viral on social media. Mr Yaxley-Lennon subsequently made comments on social media about Jamal which are alleged to be defamatory.
Julian Blake appeared for Kirklees Council and successfully defended an application made by Mr Yaxley-Lennon for Jamal’s school file and the personal data of other pupils at the school.
