We are pleased to announce that Jonathan Moffett KC has been appointed as a legal member of the Proscribed Organisations Appeal Commission.
The Proscribed Organisations Appeal Commission (POAC) is an independent UK tribunal that hears appeals against decisions by the Home Secretary to ban (or “proscribe”) an organisation under terrorism laws. It allows individuals or organisations to challenge the government’s refusal to remove a group from the list of proscribed organisations.
Jonathan also sits as a Deputy High Court Judge in the King’s Bench Division and Recorder. Jonathan will take up this new appointment alongside his full-time practice at the Bar.
If you would like more information on Jonathan’s practice or instructing him, please contact Michael Smith, Thomas Belcher or Jake Foote.
