The Division Court, Lord Justice Singh and Mrs Justice Carr, today handed down judgment in The Queen (o.a.o Atta Ul Haq) v Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, on Articles 8 and 9 of the ECHR. Jonathan Auburn and Zoe Gannon acted for the successful Local Authority. The judgment gives useful guidance for public authorities on the application of the test of manifestation, interference and justification and the margin of judgement in the context of a religious rights case.
