The teaching of relationships and sex/sexuality education (RSE) is a controversial issue for many schools and parents and the scope of the parental right to withdraw their children from such lessons is not always well understood. The High Court has recently given an important judgment dealing with these matters, R (Isherwood) v Welsh Ministers. Jonathan Moffett KC (who represented the Welsh Ministers in Isherwood) and Paul Greatorex will explain that case, what it decided, and what its implications are for schools and parents in both England and Wales.
