Keeping judges happy: how to win (or at least not lose) your case

11KBW is delighted to invite you to the fourth in a series of breakfast seminars. All are welcome, but these seminars are particularly directed to associates and other junior fee earners.

Leo DavidsonOliver Jackson and Rita Dias will give practical tips on how to keep judges on side, from the Tribunals to the High Court. They will cover:

  • Correspondence: the art of beautifully-written letters. What kind of correspondence helps (or irritates) a judge? And how can you move things along – or slow things down?
  • Hearings: lining things up for trial. What is your CMC judge really thinking? How do you set the foundation for a win?
  • Trials: pitfalls and surprises. How do you keep a trial manageable? What is the easiest path to a positive outcome?

For a fun and relaxed discussion of these issues, and plenty of war stories, come along on Tuesday 12 May at 8:30am, for an 8:45am start. The seminar will be followed by an informal discussion and Q&A session.

Date: Tuesday 12 May 2026 at 8:30am
