The Police Federation of England and Wales (“PFEW”) has settled claims brought against it, by over 19,000 police officers. These claims concerned two cyber-attacks suffered by the PFEW in March 2019. This settlement brings to a close over three years of litigation, in which the PFEW successfully resisted an attempt by the claimants to have the court make a group litigation order: Beck & Ors v Police Federation of England and Wales (Re Costs) [2023] EWHC 685 (KB).
This litigation has been widely reported. Statements on behalf of both parties and the PFEW’s CEO Mukund Krishna can be found here.
Anya Proops KC leading Robin Hopkins, Zac Sammour and Lucy Jones, represented the PFEW. They were instructed by Osborne Clarke LLP.
