We also advise in language you can understand, free from jargon.

Our fees are flexible and transparent, to match client budgets. Work is charged as a ballpark fixed fee or at an hourly rate. We always agree costs with clients before work is undertaken, and there is no charge for your case to be assessed by our members. We are proud of our reputation and take client feedback seriously.

Transparency Statement

Clerks are always available to discuss levels of fees. Generally, a disclosable hourly rate will be applied to any advisory work (eg written or in conference). The more information that we have about a matter, the easier it is to provide an accurate estimate; in circumstances where the instructions are available we can estimate and agree fees before any chargeable work is undertaken. We are also able to agree fixed fees, but only in circumstances where all information about a matter is available to us.

There will be occasions when circumstances change eg more information comes to light; instructions are amended etc but we will always endeavour to notify clients in advance in circumstances where this may lead to an increase in the fees to be charged.

We always seek to ensure that timescales for providing advice are adhered to but will notify the client if there is likely to be any delay and the reason for the same. (Click here to download our Transparency Statement).

11KBW Standard Contractual Terms

From 31st January 2013, 11KBW’s members will adopt The Bar Council’s Standard Conditions of Contract for the Supply of Legal Services by Barristers to Authorised Persons 2012, these terms have been updated for GDPR in 2018 (link below). These Standard Conditions replace The Bar Council’s previous Terms of Work on which Barristers Offer their Services to Solicitors and the Withdrawal of Credit Scheme 198 in Annexe G to the Bar Code of Conduct.
Save where otherwise agreed, these Conditions will apply whenever new instructions are accepted by members of 11KBW from 31st January 2013 onwards. Exisiting instructions in on-going cases received prior to 31st January 2013 will continue to be governed by the Terms of Work/Withdrawal of Credit Scheme, save that the new Standard Conditions will apply if new instructions are recieved in relation to an existing case, e.g. for advice relating to an appeal.
